Apprenticeship Awards

The 2017 Engineering Taranaki Consortium (ETC) Apprenticeship Awards planning is well underway. The ETC Apprenticeship Awards will host the 13th annual event and showcase the Taranaki regions engineering (including refrigeration) and electrical trades employers and apprentices.

2017 Sponsorship opportunities are open and if you would like to register your interest in this year's event - at any level, please email or call us on 06 759 1800 to discuss how you would like to be involved.

The Apprenticeship Awards, facilitated by Engineering Taranaki Consortium, strives to ensure that the achievements of the region’s engineering and electrical apprentices don’t go unrecognised and that those apprentices are rewarded for both excellence in their learning and the successful completion and attainment of their respective nationally recognised industry qualifications.

The 2016 Awards evening celebrated the value of ‘trade’ apprentices and their employers, alongside their peers, families and friends. Over 300 participants on the night celebrated the announcment of 47 apprentice awards which included the 2016 Overall winner of the Apprentice of the Year. The apprentice’s commitment to on and off-job learning and practical application of their skills in what can be at times a challenging work environment, but continues to demonstrate their contributions to the future workforce needs of the engineering and electrical trades in Taranaki.

By highlighting apprenticeships as an alternative to university study, we hope to achieve a change in school-level thinking that will deliver a strong future for Taranaki’s businesses and the industry as a whole.
