2018 Awards Event

THANKS TO  PLATINUM SPONSOR – TODD ENERGY

Engineering and electrical apprenticeships are a key component to developing and maintaining a highly skilled workforce in the region. These trades are the backbone of industry in Taranaki and Todd Energy is proud to be supporting the Engineering Taranaki Consortium and the ETC Apprenticeship Awards once again.

Todd Energy strives to support a highly skilled workforce across Taranaki, providing work environments for staff and contractors who are motivated by technical and operational challenges and developing high levels of initiative. “We value the quality of contract workforce available to support the industry across the region,” says Todd Energy’s CE Dr Joanna Breare.

STANDING STRONG IN THE FACE OF CHANGE

Taranaki’s Engineering Consortium (ETC) consists of 11 Taranaki businesses who work together to position the region as a centre of exportable engineering innovation and excellence building on the Taranaki’s world-class firms and dynamic supplier network. Collectively the group employs over 1000 people, many of whom started their employment journey as apprentices.

“We’re proud to be actively promoting apprenticeships within heavy industry and the processing industries providing New Zealand with the talent pipeline it needs now and into the future,” says Chair Pat Hills.

Taranaki’s highly skilled engineering sector is facing a period of uncertainty, change and transition as the region prepares for the future.

“A key to sustaining the success of our world class engineering sector into this new-look future is the ongoing encouragement and development for our talented young people through apprentice training.”

In its 14th year, the ETC Apprenticeship Awards showcases the best of the best in the province.

“Taranaki employers continue to passionately support and invest in apprentice training. We congratulate and applaud all those businesses, trades people and training organisations who have provided the encouragement, coaching and training for our apprentices who are critical to New Zealand’s future
